Play CuttingGrass Walkthrough
It’s like solving a maze… except the prize is a perfectly striped lawn. CuttingGrass is a relaxing path-planning puzzle. Your mower has limited fuel, a blade width that matters, and a yard full of obstacles like hedges, hoses, furniture, and narrow gates. Your goal is to clip every green tile efficiently without leaving annoying little strips. What you do in the game Each level: Shows a top-down yard layout. You tap to commit to a route segment. You pivot at junctions and plan continuous coverage. You avoid hazards (stones, flower patches). You finish with full coverage, good fuel economy, and healthy turf. It’s calm, but it rewards thinking ahead. Controls Desktop Click to choose direction/segments Click junctions to pivot Tap tool buttons (trimmer, roller, blower) when available Mobile Tap to commit route segments Tap junctions to pivot Tap tools to activate How you win (and how scoring works) Scores often grade: coverage (no missed grass) fuel efficiency turn count (fewer turns = smoother route) turf health (avoid stones/flowers, respect special rules) Some lawns include shaded grass that regrows or needs a second pass. Tools and special rules As you progress, tools appear: String trimmer: cleans tight edges Roller: boosts stripe satisfaction Leaf blower: clears debris to reveal hidden tiles Optional weather can change handling: morning dew reduces traction wind pushes clippings toward drains (keep them clear) Tips to play better (specific mowing strategy) Outline obstacles first. It prevents tiny slivers you’ll hate later. Mow the longest dimension in stripes. Long straight lines reduce turns. Save corners for last. Spiral around garden beds to clean up neatly. Avoid “one-tile leftovers.” Plan your blade width so edges align. Refuel before the final strip. Running out mid-pass wastes a whole route. Raise deck height on bumpy soil to protect blades (when that option exists). Use diagonals when the yard is weird-shaped. Sometimes diagonal stripes reduce turns. Use the trimmer only where needed. It’s best for tight gates and tiny edge bits. Roller timing: roll after a clean stripe run for maximum satisfaction. Blow debris early. Hidden tiles are easier to include in your main route than as a late fix. Tip: Plan first. Then commit. If you keep missing one strip behind furniture, outline that furniture first—then stripe around it. Real moment: you’ll be 95% done and see one tiny green patch behind a hose. That happens when you skip outlining. Levels, missions, and weekly challenges Missions introduce ideas like: mulching mode pet zones that require slower speed shaded grass requiring extra attention Weekly estates add maze-like hedges that test route planning without rushing. Common problems & quick fixes I’m always left with slivers: Start by outlining obstacles and align stripes to blade width. I run out of fuel: Reduce turns, refuel earlier, and avoid backtracking. I hit stones: Slow down near rocky edges and reroute around risk. Lag: Close other tabs/apps and refresh. No sound: Check mute and volume. Full screen issues: Exit and re-enter full screen; rotate mobile. Parent tip CuttingGrass builds planning, patience, and spatial thinking. It’s a great calm game between more exciting ones. Suggest breaks after a couple of yards. Quick info Platform: Browser (HTML5) Genre: Puzzle / route planning / relaxing sim Age fit: 6–13 Session length: 5–15 minutes per yard Controls: Tap/click to route, pivot, and use tools FAQ Q1: What’s the best first move in a new yard? A: Outline obstacles so you don’t leave tiny missed patches later. Q2: Why do stripes matter? A: Long stripes reduce turns and usually score better for efficiency. Q3: When should I use the trimmer? A: For tight edges and small spots your mower can’t cover cleanly. Q4: How do I save fuel? A: Reduce turns, avoid backtracking, and refuel before your final long strip. Q5: What do stones and flower patches do? A: Stones can dull blades; flowers usually penalize sloppy lines—route around them. Q6: Is there a time limit? A: Most levels focus on route quality more than rushing.
